Sounds familiar
After hearing about my endeavours to write this blog, Tim Follin, a good friend of mine, has offered to produce some chip music provided I write a music driver for the AY chip. I’m not sure how serious he was, but I might take him up on that.
Anyway, in anticipation of this, I’ve brushed up my knowledge on the AY-8-3912 chipset used in the Spectrum 128K series and posted my findings here.
I will add to the bit on the humble beeper at some point; Tim wrote some excellent 3 channel music for the 48K Spectrum – I’ll post a TAP file of that when I get chance to type it in again. I’ve also got a generic sound effect routine (for ZAP’s and the like) which I’ll include in that section.
