Fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK
I’m running the Manchester 10K
Further to my previous post about the sudden death of Geoff Follin from pancreatic cancer, I’ve decided to do something positive about it. I’m going to be running the Manchester 10K in May 2025 in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK, and have set up a JustGiving fundraising page here.
This will be a bit of a personal challenge for me. I used to do a lot of running years ago, with a personal best of around 57 minutes for the Salford 10K, but that stopped after catching a bad does of Covid early on, and subsequently suffering from Long Covid for a couple of years. This will be my first 10K in five years.
Thankfully I’m now starting to feel more normal again, and have starting training in earnest today.
Team Follin are doing The Big Step Forward
In addition, Mike Follin (and Team Geoff Follin) are participating in The Big Step Forward on the 16th July this year. His fundraising page is here.
Making a Difference
Geoff made quite a difference in the lives of many, not just through his computer games music, but to his family, friends, local community and many others through his volunteering work. We hoping that by selflessly raising money for cancer charities that we may too make a difference in someones life.
